How to Wear a Pashmina - Scarf Room Shows You How With 10 Fabulous Looks!

How to wear a pashmina?   As the UK’s leading online retailer of pashminas and wraps, we are often asked  both how to tie and how to wear one of our pashmina shawl wrap scarves.  Most of us will simply drape our pashmina over our shoulders and, while this does look gorgeous, there are so many other ways a pashmina can be styled.   A pashmina or scarf tied with a simple knot or folded creatively can lend individuality to any outfit and means that one pashmina shawl can be worn in so many different ways.

At Scarf Room, our Classic Italian Pashmina Shawls are particularly popular at this time of year as they are a perfect accessory for weddings (as a bridal or bridesmaid pashmina or as a pashmina for a wedding guest).   They are also a perfect accent for outfits being worn on ladies’ days, the races, balls, Ascot and other formal events.

Given this, I thought it would be a good time to put together a little video demonstrating just how easy (and much fun) it is to tie your pashmina in several different ways and how elegant and striking this can look.   Some of the options take a little more practice, but the results are always worthwhile.

For this How to Wear a Pashmina video, our photographer Kelly is modelling the Classic Italian Pashmina Shawl Wrap Scarf in White, the Classic Italian Pashmina Shawl Wrap Scarf in Turquoise, the Classic Italian Pashmina Shawl Wrap Scarf in Pale Grey and the Classic Italian Pashmina Shawl Wrap Scarf in Hot Pink.  All beautiful colours that are so right for right now.

How to Wear a Pashmina

The Grace Kelly

Elegant and so, so simple.   Drape the pashmina over your shoulders and allow it to fall into the crease of your elbows.    Effortless!

The Italian Knot

Channel a little Italian style.    Fold your pashmina shawl lengthways in half.   And again.  And again.   Now fold in half widthways and loop around the neck.  Pass both fringed ends through the loop and gently adjust.  Perfetto!

The Bolero

Drape the pashmina over your shoulders.    Take the fringed ends around the back of your body.    Secure in place with a simple knot.     So simple but so stylish.

The Kelly

Named after our lovely photographer Kelly.    Place the pashmina around your shoulders.   Drape one end over the opposite shoulder and allow the fringed end to fall down the back of the body.

The Wedding Shawl

A classic that never dates.   Drape your pashmina shawl over your shoulders.     Secure the ends with a knot at the front of the body.   A wedding essential.

The Sofia Loren

A sophisticated option for the evening.   Simply drape the fringed ends of your pashmina over your shoulders and allow to fall down the back of your body.  Bellissima!

The French Twist

The perfect way to inject a pop of colour into your working wardrobe.   Fold your pashmina in half lengthways and then in half again.   Then fold widthways.   Loop around your neck.   Tuck one fringed end through the loop.   Bring the other end in front of and then back through the loop.   Adjust.    C’est magnifique!

The Drape

Simply hold one corner of the short end of your pashmina allowing it to drape down.   Place over the shoulders and wear over a simple separate or elegant evening wear.   Et voila!    Beautiful.

The Waterfall

Dress up with a white tailored shirt or dress down with jeans and a sleeveless top.   Loop your pashmina round your neck with both fringed ends hanging down.   Take one end of the pashmina across the body and tuck it securely into the loop, allowing the rest to cascade.    Stunning.

The Ibiza

Take one corner of your pashmina and fold it to the centre.   Secure with a knot.   Repeat to the other side.    Slip your arms through the armholes.    Hasta la vista baby!

I hope you found our How to Wear a Pashmina tutorial useful.   There must be scores of other ways to wear your pashmina shawl.    These are just a few.     Please please please – if you have found other stylish ways to tie a pashmina or wear a pashmina, then please share.   We love your feedback and your photos.

So until next time.

Ciao bellissime.  A presto!
