The New Girl Upstairs - 50 Shades of Green

Question.

Do you wear green?  It's a tricky one, isn't it?  I love green but am not sure it loves me and a quick look through my wardrobe reveals that I do not own a single item of this gorgeous autumn colour.   I think many women feel the same way.  It's a great colour, just not for us.   But fashion is in love with green right now in all its forms from deep forest-green through khaki to cooler tones of mint and ice.   Highlighter green was even spotted on the streets of Lytham St Annes (where our lovely office is based) by your eagle-eyed blogger over the weekend!

Given the spectrum of green out there right now, perhaps not 50 shades, but a large palette nonetheless, there has got to be a green out there to suit every skin tone.   And you don't have to go for top-to-toe green.   A simple accessory which references the trend is often enough.   That is the beauty of a scarf - you can very easily tap into a fashion by accessorising with a simple and very versatile accessory but without committing to a whole new wardrobe and, let's face it, who's brave enough to go for green from head to toe?  What is needed, sometimes, is just a nod to a trend without going completely overboard.   And the scarf of choice need not be in a block colour - you can mix it up with tartan or animal print - which can make it easier to wear and often more complementary.

So, on a mission to find a woman's scarf in this season's must-have colour which suits every complexion, I have snuck into Scarf Room's vast stockroom of women's scarves.  It was a difficult choice but the following are my five suit-all skin tone favourites:-

The beautiful Merino Wool Silk Mix Scarf  for, a simple but stylish wool mix scarf which comes in a beautiful selection of colours.   Here Caroline is modelling the scarf in mint green and against her skin and hair it adds a gorgeous pop of colour.   But it also suits Kelly (who has red hair and a fair complexion) and I (blonde hair and a tan) so it is a versatile choice that references this season's love of green but in a more understated way.   It also feels wonderfully cosy and so provides a very warm autumn/winter layer to boot.

Finally, no overview of our ladies' scarf collection would be complete without a mention of one of our beautiful Super Soft Italian Pashmina Shawl Wraps.    These pashminas are one of Scarf Room's best sellers and are often worn over bare shoulders as a perfect cover-up at weddings and special occasions.   However, they can be worn in a more relaxed way also to add a beautiful splash of uplifting colour over a simple knit or leather jacket.   I have chosen to highlight the Super Soft Italian Pashmina Shawl Wraps in pistachio but if this is a green step too far, there are several more classic greens in this collection including lime and emerald, so really a colour to suit everyone.
